My continuous goal since I began developing around 10 years ago was to make awesome websites. Years later I am doing exactly that and loving it. Years of practice and experience in the corporate consulting world has only sharpened my skills and opened my eyes to a variety of technologies and patterns to provide the best possible solutions to clients.
I grew up in Adrian, Michigan with a passion for science, mathematics, and technology. Eventually I went on to college to pursue a degree in programming. While studying as a Computer Science major in my freshman year at Western Michigan University, I realized that I didn't just want to understand the nuts and bolts of what programming is, but wanted to understand the human and business aspects as well. Shortly thereafter, I switched my major to Electronic Business Design with a minor in Business. I am one of the few people who actively gets to use most the material I learned in college every day in the workforce.
After college I moved down to Atlanta, Georgia to escape a combination of a declining economy and the miserable winters. I started working at Northridge Systems a week after graduation and gained a ton of experience on the Microsoft platforms and the ability to interface and work with medium to large companies. Now I work with The SuperGroup providing rich experiences in a variety of languages and platforms, primarily in the open source arena.
One of the key advantages I get to keeping myself in both a corporate environment and as a freelance consultant is that I get to interact with all sorts of companies (both for-profit and non-profit) of all sizes with unique people and challenges everyday. It also allows me to be surrounded by brilliant and creative people that give me perspectives that would be hard to find anywhere else.
